Race Course Info

Race course will be open for pre-ride at 5 pm day before race.

 

The race course will be all on the Steeple chase side. The race course will be approx. 8 miles. The course will be counter-clockwise and consist of bike trails and horse trails. These trails are only permitted on race day by the G.I.H.P. We cannot give out a GPS for this race course.

 

Online Registration

Late fees of $10 will be applied after 11:59 pm, Sunday, March 8th.

Online registration closes at 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 12th.

In order to guarantee your custom race dry fit T-shirt, you must

register before 11:59 pm, Sunday, March 8th.

 

Race Day Registration

$10.00 late fee applied to late and Race Day registration.

*No guarantee of dry fit T-shirt with late or race day registration.

 

Camping

Camping by R.V, campers, or tents will be available in the Steeple Chase field.

Price for camping will be $15.00 for RVs and campers, $10.00 for tents.

*All fees must be paid to promoter on race morning at registration.

Kids Race

Race course will be approximately 1 mile. All parents feel free to ride with kids: Registration is FREE. *ALL PARENTS MUST SIGN A WAIVER FOR PARTICIPANT.

6 Hour Rules & Regulations

The 6 hour Mountain Bike Race will start at 10:15 a.m. Your bike should be positioned at the starting line no later than 10:05 a.m.

 

Mass start: The 6 hour mountain bike race will be a mass start of all race categories at one time. As you finish each lap and approach the pit area you may stop in your pit area. Once each racer approaches the timing/finish area:

 

1. Each racer must have the number plate mounted and visible on the front of the bike.

2. Once you cross through the timing area you may continue back out on the course or teams may exchange racers within the designated Transition zone. (Failure to do so may result in DQ)

 

If a team mate has a mechanical out on the course you have a couple of options:

1. Fix your mechanical as quickly as you can and get riding again. You don't have to be self-supportive in this race. If another rider comes along and they have a tool or knowledge to help, you may do so.

2. If a rider that has a mechanical or has a wreck preventing them from finishing the lap , the rider must radio or call into their team to send another team member on course to start a new lap. The new rider must check in at the timing tent before entering on course. Once a racer radios or calls in and reports to CANCEL the lap it is CANCELLED.

 

Racers may ride as many laps consecutively as they wish. Each racer must ride a minimum of 1 lap during the 6 hour period. All laps must be completed by 4:00 p.m. or they will NOT count The 6 hour race winners will be the ones that have tallied the most laps at the end of the 6 hours.

 

TIMING CHIP: All racers will be given a race number plate. The timing chip will be safely secured to the back of the plate. Each racer is responsible for keeping up with this plate the entire race. After the race is over, you may dispose of the plate.

 

Severe Weather Policy

Unless otherwise posted, race will be held. Safety of all racers is main priority.

 

Transfer / Refund Policy

There will be no registration transfers or refunds once registration is processed.

 

3 Hour Rules & Regulations

All racers must attend racers meeting. The 3 Hour mountain bike race will start at 10:00 am. Unless otherwise announced in the racers meeting the race will be a mass start. Your bike should be positioned on the start line no later than 9:45 am.

 

As you approach the pit area you may stop in your pit area. Once each racer approaches the timing/finish area:

 

1. Each racer must have the number plate mounted and visible on the front of the bike.

2. Ride through the designated timing area

3. Once you cross through the timing area you may continue back out on the course

 

Racers may ride as many laps consecutively as they wish. Each racer must ride a minimum of 1 lap during the 3 hour period. All laps must be completed by 1:00pm or they will NOT count The 3 hour race winners will be the racers that have tallied the most laps at the end of the 3 hours in the fastest time.

 

*All racers may assist other racers. No outside assistance at any point within the time limits of start to finish of the race.

 

Novice Class

All novice racers will race 1 lap.

 

JR. Category

JR.1 will complete 1 lap. JR.2 will complete 2 Hours.

 

Awards

Custom Medallions and prizes will be given out to the overall top 3 male and female finishers. Custom race medallions will be presented to the top 3 male and female finishers in each age group. Novice awards will be presented when we have the top 3 finishers back for both male and female.
