Rules & Regulations

FORMAT⁄RULES:
The 9⁄6 hour Mountain Bike Race will start at 10:00 a.m. Your bike should be positioned at
the bike racks no later than 9:45 a.m. Bike racks will be located at the start⁄finish area.

* Race call-ups will begin at 9:45 at the start line. The top 3 Series Points holders, 1st,
2nd, and 3rd, in each category will be called up to the start line first in front of the field
of racers as appreciation of their dedication to the Series. Everyone else will fall in behind
them. This will be done at every race.

Lemans start: All 9⁄6 hour racers will start at 10:00 a.m. with a Lemans style start.
The Lemans start is about an 500 yard run from the start⁄finish area around a designated
area and back (Lemans start at the discretion of the race director). Racers then get on their
bikes and ride a prologue lap (parade lap) around the open field⁄power lines back through
the start⁄finish area and then onto the race course.

As you approach the transition area you have one of three choices: (1) go out on another lap,
(2) pass the timing chip to another rider as they go out onto the course, (3) stop. If you
choose option (1)you must still show the timing chip to the recorders at the start⁄finish area
and tell them you are going back out. If you choose option (2) your rider waiting to go out
onto the course must check in (preferably before you get there – makes things go quicker for
your team). Once the rider on the course comes through the start⁄finish area and they show
the recorders the timing chip they can pass it off and you can get riding! If you choose option
(3) all you need to do is show the timing chip to the recorders and you may exit the start⁄finish
area. If you choose option (3) once you and⁄or your team is ready to resume riding you must
check back in to let the recorders know you are going back out on the course.

If your team has a mechanical out on the course you have a couple of options: (1) fix your
mechanical as quickly as you can and get riding again. You don’t have to be self supportive
(meaning) if another rider comes along and they have a tool, tube, knowledge, etc. you need,
you may get help from them! Only penalty here is you may loose time, get riding fast to make
up for it! (2) if you have a rider that has a mechanical or has a wreck or anything that hinders
them from finishing a lap, they may radio in and get another rider out on the course. You may
either radio in on your own to your team or you can get to a check point and have them radio
in for you. EITHER WAY THE NEW RIDER ON THE COURSE MUST CHECK IN!!! Once your
rider radios in and reports to CANCEL the lap it is CANCELLED. AGAIN IF YOUR RIDER
RADIOS IN OR HAS SOMEONE RADIO IN FOR THEM, THE LAP THEY ARE ON IS
CANCELLED!!! (We just don’t want there to be any confusion on this).

Racers may ride as many laps consecutively as they wish. Each racer must ride a minimum
of 1 lap during the 9 hour period. All laps must be completed by 7:00 p.m. or they will NOT
count. 9 HOUR RACE FINISHES AT 7:00 p.m.

THE 6 HOUR RACE FINISHES AT 4:00 p.m. The laps must be completed by 4:00 p.m. or they
will NOT count.

The 9 hour race winners will be the ones that have tallied the most laps at the
end of the 9 hours!

The 6 hour race winners will be the ones that have tallied the most laps at the
end of the 6 hours!

TERMS TO KNOW
PROLOGUE LAP: We like to call it a parade lap thins the riders out before you
enter the course.

BIKE RACKS: Located at the start⁄finish area. Place you hang your bike while
waiting to go out onto the course.

TIMING CHIP: Each team will receive a timing chip with their team number
assigned to it. Your team is responsible for keeping up with this the entire 9⁄6 hours. If at
any time you come into the transition area without the timing chip your team will be penalized
one lap. You must show the recorders your timing chip each time you come in and out of the
transition area.

PASS LEFT: If you approach a rider and are looking to pass them and you have
room to pass on their left call “pass left”.

PASS RIGHT: If you approach a rider and are looking to pass them and you
have room to pass on their right call “pass right”.

LITTERBUG: Person who leaves trash on the course. Please do not leave tubes,
gel, goo, nutrition bar packs on the course. If you bring it out there, bring it back with you.

DISQUALIFIED: Person⁄Team who doesn’t follow rules.

WINNER: Person⁄Team standing on the podium at the end of the 9⁄6 hour race
team with most laps at the end of 9⁄6 hours.

9/6 HOUR POINT SERIES RULES/INFORMATION
9/6 HOUR POINT SERIES RULES/INFORMATION
Chain Buster Productions is using a point system to reward  the top 2012 series finishers in each category. The Chain Buster Endurance Points Series will be tracked/recorded by our staff throughout the 2012 calendar at each race. In order to qualify for the Championship Points Series ; solo 9 hour and 6 hour riders must race a minimum 4 out of 6 race events (two/three man teams to qualify must race in a minimum 4 out of 6 race events as well).

Going into 2012 we are working to make the series points simple to keep up with for both the racers and Chain Buster Productions. In order to qualify for the Championship Points Series you must race in at least 4 of 6 races in the same discipline/category/teams - must consist of the same people no alternates. The points you win from these races will follow you in whichever route you and or your team chooses (9 or 6 hour series). At the end of the series if you have raced a minimum of 4 out of 6 races to qualify for the series we will then take your best 4 scored races for your total. Any 6 hour race points you earn may be moved up to qualify in the 9 hour series - 9 hour race points you earn may not be moved down (if you move down from 9 hour race to a 6 hour race you may not transfer these points).

If there is a tie at the end of the series in any category we will determine winner by most over all laps completed in the series- if there is still a tie we will determine winner by most laps completed at the series finale. If there is still a tie then fastest overall time at the series finale.
